It’s Okay to Eat the Carbs

Stop being scared of carbohydrates. They are not the enemy.

Years of fad diets like Atkins and Keto have created an unnecessary fear of fruit, bread and pasta.

Your body NEED healthy carbohydrates. In fact, they help you LOSE weight while in a calorie deficit.

  • Carbs help you burn FAT. When you eat them, your body breaks them down into glucose, which is a type of sugar (our body’s main source of energy). When you exercise, our body uses glucose for fuel (i.e.: BETTER performance during our workout).

  • Carbs help you feel FULL. Carbs are high in fiber, which is a nutrient that helps you feel full. When you feel full, you're less likely to overeat.

  • Carbs help you build muscle. Muscle tissue burns more calories than fat tissue. When you eat carbohydrates, your body can use them to build muscle. Muscle tissue can help you burn more calories at rest, which can help you lose weight. Eating enough protein and strength training will further support muscle growth.

It's important to note that not all carbohydrates are created equal. Some carbohydrates are better for weight loss than others. Complex carbohydrates, such as whole grains, fruits, and vegetables, are better for weight loss than simple carbohydrates, such as sugary drinks and processed foods.
