Stop being scared of eating foods with fat

Remember when fat was demonized? We flocked toward boxed and bagged food that boasted it was FAT FREE! Heck, scan the movie boxed size candy aisle - so many of them brag about being fat free, while they are LOADED with unhealthy added sugars. Fat is not the enemy! In fact, it is an ESSENTIAL macronutrient.
In the past, fat was demonized as a major cause of weight gain and heart disease. But today, we know that fat is actually an essential nutrient that plays a number of important roles in the body.
For one, fat is a concentrated source of energy. This means that it can provide you with a lot of calories in a small amount of food. This can be helpful if you're looking for a way to boost your energy levels or if you're trying to gain weight. It's also extremely satiating (satisfying) - often, when our clients tell us they are STARVING by 10:00am after a high-protein breakfast, it's because they didn't consume enough healthy fats that morning.
Fat is also essential for the health of your cell membranes. Cell membranes are the outer walls of your cells, and they're made up of a layer of fat. This layer of fat helps to protect your cells from damage and helps them to function properly.
In addition, fat is needed for the production of certain hormones, including sex hormones, thyroid hormones, and vitamin D. These hormones play a wide range of roles in the body, including regulating metabolism, growth, and development.
Finally, fat is important for brain health. Fat is essential for the development of the brain, and it also helps to protect the brain from damage.
Of course, not all fats are created equal. Some fats, such as saturated and trans fats (found in cookies, frozen pizza, margarine, crackers and fried foods), are unhealthy and can increase your risk of heart disease and other chronic diseases. However, other fats, such as monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, are healthy and can provide a number of health benefits.
So, what does this mean for you? It means that you don't need to be afraid of fat. In fact, you need some fat in your diet to stay healthy. Just make sure to choose healthy fats, such as those found in avocados, nuts, seeds, and fatty fish.
And if you're worried about weight gain, don't worry. You can still eat healthy fats and lose weight. Just make sure to eat them in moderation and to balance them with other healthy foods, while maintaining a calorie deficit.
So there you have it. Fat is not the enemy! It's an essential nutrient that plays a number of important roles in the body. Just make sure to choose healthy fats and to eat them in moderation.
